Slettestrand
Slettestrand is known for being an old fishing village located in Jammer Bay, close to Svinkløv Dune Plantation. Fishing from the open beach has been practices here sind early times, a tradition still remembered today by the fishing boats resting on the shore. Nowadays, however, the boats are only for private use, but during the summer. you might be lucky enough to see them being pulled with the help of a winch.
Slettestrand was also loading site for 19th-century coaatal trade, where flat-bottomed cargo vessels transported agricultural products to Norway and imported timber and iron in return
Addionaly, Slettestrand was home to a rescue station, which is now part of the Han Herred Sea Boats project, dedicated to preserving coastal culture along Jammer Bay.
Today, Slettestrand is not only known for its beautiful nature, stunning beach, and peaceful atmosphere but also as a popular tourist destination with hotels, guesthouses, and holiday homes.
